Living With Grief
Grief is the natural response to losing someone or something we love — a person, a relationship, health, a home or a hoped-for future. It doesn't follow a tidy timeline.
Grief comes in waves
Many people move back and forth between facing the loss and taking a break from it — the "dual process" model. Both are healthy. Laughing or having a good day doesn't mean you've stopped caring.
Grief lives in the body
- Tiredness, aches, poor sleep and trouble concentrating are common.
- Gentle routine, food and rest support you through it.
- Anniversaries and reminders can bring waves back — that's normal.
